About Us

Bionic Pets LLC is headquartered in Sterling, Virginia, and offers orthotic and prosthetic devices for animals. The company is led by Derrick Campana, who began his career making prosthetics for humans. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology/Biomechanics from Penn State University, a Master’s Degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Northwestern University, and a passion for animals in need, Derrick has pioneered the field of Veterinary Orthotics and Prosthetics into what it is today. He was one of the first to address animal mobility challenges with human-based solutions and has made it possible for animals to receive the same level of care as human patients. Bionic Pet’s goal is to help as many animals as possible. The company offers cost-effective solutions, utilizing the latest technologies so that animal prosthetics are affordable.

Derrick lives in Arlington VA, with his wife Kelly and two young boys Cole and Jack. In his downtime between filming and building mobility devices, he enjoys camping, playing sports with his boys, travelling with his wife and spoiling his dog Henry.

Meet the Team

Dani

Dani grew up on her family's farm on Maryland's Eastern shore. After graduating high school, she began working in the veterinary field in 2015 and is completing her B.S in Animal Science with a focus on Sustainable Livestock Management. She left the fast-paced hospital setting 2 years ago after moving to acreage in the Shenandoah's with her husband to pursue their passion for permaculture and sustainable living practices. Together they raise a menagerie of creatures including goats, a mixed flock of poultry, 2 Chessies Avery and Arthur, a gremlin/ Chihuahua mix Aspen, and pair of foster-fail cats. In her spare time she enjoys exploring the woods with her dogs, spending time in the garden, yoga (sans goats), and is an avid reader.

Jaron

Originally from Seattle, Jaron completed his BA in Kinesiology from Eastern Washington University, followed by a graduate degree in O&P technology, and is currently pursuing another degree in Animal Behavior. He now resides in NoVA with his rescue chihuahua Jackie, after saving her from a high kill shelter. As a DJ of 15 years, Jaron loves connecting with people through music. When not at Bionic Pets, he enjoys playing soccer, going to the gym, and spending quality time with his daughter and dog Jackie.

Henry

Henry was born on December 28th 2012 and grew up in Arlington, where he still lives with his parents Derrick and Kelly, as well as two younger brothers Cole and Jack. He has been working as an office greeter, and supervisor at Bionic Pets since 2013. Henry enjoys travelling with his dad and grandfather all over the country for filming. His favorite location so far has been a goat sanctuary in NJ where he made lifelong friends. In his downtime, he enjoys chasing squirrels, barking for treats, meeting new people and their pets, sleeping and watching his dad work.
