DiveDesign and Bionic Pets Partnership

DiveDesign is an industrial design firm co-owned by Adam Hecht and Alex Tholl. DiveDesign helps solve complex problems through new technologies. Over the course of 6 months, they worked with Derrick to reinvent the way these devices could be made. Now utilizing 3D scanning, custom software, and 3D printing to make these futuristic prosthetics. The jackets get used for both the prosthetics and carts and are made from TPU (Thermoplastic Urethane) which is lightweight, skin safe, breathable, semi-flexible, durable, and waterproof. Using traditional human-grade prosthetic components and pair them with either a custom shock-absorbing foot or cart setup depending on the case.

About 3D Full Limb Prosthetics

The traditional way of building these, while effective, can be very labor-intensive, wasteful, and does not offer as much overall device flexibility. To combat these challenges and make this a better product, we worked with DiveDesign to create a system that now allows us to 3D scan patients' molds, build the device in custom software, and 3D print the final device. The TPU material is lightweight, breathable, waterproof, and flexible to account for weight changes and body movement. In addition, the 3D Full-Limbs have a shock-absorbing foot to continue alleviating pressure from the torso.

About the 3D Carts

No dog is the same so why should their cart be? Similar to our 3D Full-Limb Prosthetics, we worked with Dive Design to create a system that now allows us to 3D scan patient's molds, build the device in custom software, and 3D print the final device. The TPU material is lightweight, breathable, waterproof, and flexible to account for weight changes and body movement. Additionally, we worked to develop new joints and wheels that allow these carts to be very modular in terms of height, width, pitch, and more. These carts can be designed for both front and rear end uses.

Carts are case by case and range from $750 to $2,250
